Mega Pinwheel Star Quilt
Quilt Mega Star Walking ump for an easy quilting project that you can do quickly on your home machine in this new quilting workshop with Leah Day. It’s all about building MEGA skills! Learn how to make a quilt from huge half-square triangles, and then how to machine quilt it with your walking foot and three oversize designs.
Twelve videos are included in this video workshop to guide you through each step of the piecing and quilting process. Leah will teach you how to do it:
- Pin huge pieces of half-square triangles with precision
- Attach borders that don’t distort the edges of the quilt
- Plan a simple and quick quilting design
- Line rows evenly spaced with minimal marks
- Manage the bulk of the quilt on a small home sewing machine
Many quilters have been convinced that they cannot quilt on their home machine. You don’t need a long arm to finish your quilts quickly so they can be used and enjoyed.
By breaking down the design and quilting process into the simplest terms, Leah will teach you how to choose the right quilt and designs so you don’t get bogged down with a complicated mess.
In this workshop you will learn how to use your walking foot to evenly space the lines, break up your quilt, and quilt quickly from the center. This will knock down the stiffest part of the quilt first!
This pattern is designed for %100 cotton fabric that is typically 40 – 44 inches wide. Leah used Kona cotton fabric in White and Denim and six fat quarters of Monaluna Simple Life fabric to create the quilt top and Hobbs Heirloom wool quilt to give the quilt extra punch.
