When I saw this bundle, I immediately thought of fall leaves!  I am a huge fan of the traditional Maple Leaf quilt block – and when I saw this bundle – I knew that’s what I was going to make – a bunch of pretty maple leaves! Bundle Batch Golden Free Pattern.

I enjoyed making all of these pretty maple leaves!  If you wanted an extra scrappy look – you could make each leaf with different fabrics. You can see this origine pattern here in fortworthfabricstudio.blogspot.com

You could also make this any size you want, if this is too skinny, you could do two rows of leaves and maybe only do 4 blocks per row.  This would make a nice sized table topper!  You could also make an entire quilt with this fun block!  Your options are endless!

Let’s get started!  You can make this entire runner with one fat quarter bundle and a little extra background fabric.  I used my leftovers to piece the back and I reserved one of the fat quarters for the binding!  If you wanted to make a bigger table runner or a topper – a half yard bundle would work wonderfully![opd id=”92″]

Quilt Passion Flower Flip

Quilt Passion Flower Flip how beautiful this pattern is, don’t you agree? Yes it is and I loved this pattern so much that I printed a picture of it (plain paper) to see and imagine more colors that I can use and other fabrics such as colors and prints needed. Quilt Passion Flower Flip pattern is really important for us to have this month agree?

Passion Flower Flip Quilt

Quilt Passion Flower
Quilt Passion Flower

This pattern was designed by Anna Maria at freespiritfabrics.com and of course we can use the colors and fabrics we want. I was even talking to my husband about exactly that, I thought about making this pattern with more refined fabric, for example a Japanese seja for it to be lighter and have a high gloss.

Of course it will be very delicate, I want to use threads in shades of gold and silver and I want a background also with silk fabric but in a more matte color so as not to draw attention to the background of this quilt.

Turn some cartwheels and do some flips with this lively quilt! Half-square triangles spin around bold borders featuring Anna Maria Horner’s Passionflower fabrics. The pattern, actually the PDF file is well explained and interesting like this, so you can see how easy the pattern is to make.

Quilts with floral print are not limited to certain seasons. It is a democratic option and goes well in any climate. In the summer they make the look more colorful and with the face of the season, in winter they contrast with the more closed colors leaving the look more lively and cheerful in your home or office.

Combine colors

One of the simplest places to start is to have a black and white color scheme. Try mixing some polka dot pillows with some striped ones, making sure the colors match! This is a great start for someone who isn’t sure if they are succeeding in making a mix of prints. However, we encourage you to be a little bolder and try a certain color scheme.

Mixing prints is a great alternative for creating stylish looks with fashion information. In addition to adding depth to the look, different patterns can also add depth to productions.

How to combine floral prints and stripes?

For those who are afraid of combining them wrong, here’s a tip: if the stripes are black and white, or navy and white, you don’t even need to pay attention to the color of the flowers. It is much easier to get it right. Another cool trick is to use accessories, such as shoes and belts, in the same color as the floral print.

We hope you enjoyed these tips, this pattern, and of course this wonderful article, and you can certainly enjoy it now by downloading this PDF below.[opd id=”82″]

Square in square quilt block Pattern Free

Square in square quilt block Pattern tutorial is more of a summer themed quilt, but just so you know, I DID start this project back in July with the intention to get the project up on the blog within a few days! That’s as easy as crocheting. Unfortunately, I’ve just gotten really slow with completing projects lately. I do admit though, I did end up creating a few extra problems for myself while making this quilt.

Square in square quilt block Pattern

You know that old saying, measure twice, cut once?  Square in square quilt block Well, I hate to be a know-it-all type person who says this kind of stuff, but this is especially true in quilting too! When I first started this project, I wasn’t exactly sure what direction I was going to go with the jelly roll.

I eventually settled on sewing 3 strips together and making this square in square design by cutting the strips into 6.5-inch squares.  I put together a couple of blocks.  Admired them, took pictures, showed them off and then I put the project aside for about a month Square in square quilt block.

Square in square quilt block Pattern
Square in square quilt block Pattern

When I finally got back to it.  I finished sewing all the jelly roll strips together and cut them into squares.  I didn’t re-measure before cutting, I just cut the measurement I “remembered.”  SEE ALSO: Crazy Baby Quilt best pattern for 2020

I bet you can predict what I am about to say…  You know it – I totally remembered that measurement wrong!  So I had a whole stack of squares that measured 6.5 by 6.25.

UGH!

So I ended up having to recut everything AND pick apart the other blocks I had already done and recut those too.

This was a smaller than normal jellyroll I’d picked up from Joann’s so I couldn’t just start over. There weren’t enough strips Anyway, I finally got everything recut and could move forward.

When I googled what type of block this might be I came across a couple of different names, framed square, square in square, bento box, etc… Personally, I like the term square in square so that’s what I’m going with Square in square quilt block. Crazy Baby Quilt you see?

 Square in square quilt block

Since this block is made with a jelly roll, it comes together a bit differently, but I like it!  Plus there is a lot less cutting and piecing in this method. You can get so many looks with this pattern just by using different fabric patterns and shades. In this case, I used a jelly roll in a batik pattern very similar shades of blue and green from Joann.  Find similar jellyrolls here and here.

As I was putting together this quilt top, I seriously considered sending it out to be professionally quilted.  I’ve never done that before and don’t even know where to start looking.

Have you ever sent a quilt off (via mail) to be quilted professionally?  How was your experience?  I’m sure there are people that do it locally, but I live kind of far out and am not interested in driving 30 to 45 minutes when I could just package it up and have the mailman pick it up from my house.

Products used and/or recommended in this post:

  • 6.5-inch triangle square up ruler (this sure would have helped me with that cutting mistake!)
  • Rotary Cutter
  • I love my large ruler and large cutting mat, but you may prefer to start off with a smaller Cutting set
  • Dritz Dual Purpose Marking Pen
  • Wonder clips
  • Walking foot

This pattern is wonderful for any occasion, decoration or part of your home. Can be used as a blanket, bedspread, table runner, lining for Dad’s chair, for his sofa it has infinite possibilities of use. Now I ask: What will your use be for?

Now that you can download your PDF above and make this wonderful pattern. An interesting detail is that you can make this pattern to your style. We also ask that you comment here in this article, share it with your friends, share it on your social networks, this will help us bring you much more news.[opd id=”106″]

Candy Swirls Quilt

Candy Swirls Quilt is a different but exciting pattern to make especially for its difference. Particularly I could not understand the design or actually grasp its meaning, but it is certain that between pieces of triangles added together when making a rhombus. Interesting isn’t it?

Candy Swirls Quilt

Candy Swirls Quilt
Candy Swirls Quilt – by Suzanne Jackman

This pattern was designed by Suzanne Jackman of Splendid Speck. Suzanne Jackman of Splendid SpeckWho doesn’t remember childhood and eating swirl candies wrapped in cellophane? This patterns is in my.modafabrics.com

This candy swirl quilt goes back to sweet candy and consists of blocks with a pinwheel, 4 half square triangles, and 4 rectangular squares to create a finished 12″ block. A set of 30 blocks creates a 60″ x 72″ quilt (Want to make something smaller? 4 blocks create a 24″ pillow). This quilt is created using a matching layer cake and charm pack, along with background and backing.

You can choose the colors and even more, choose the type of fabric that can be used to then make the pattern your way. Preferably I like single colors in patterns like this.

What size quilt can be made with a layer cake?

The fastest and simplest way to make any size quilt is to use your favorite fabric pre-cuts to make a classic quilt. Just two 42-piece layer cakes will create an 85″ square quilt using a 9-by-9 arrangement of 10″ squares! For a little more interest, add some quilting between your squares.

How much backing do I need for a tiered cake quilt?

Backing fabric: 3-1/4 yards (this allows an extra 2″ of backing fabric around the quilt.) Batting: Double/full batting pack, or one 56″ x 74″ piece.

Can you make a log cabin quilt from a layer cake?

A luxurious and delicate quilt pattern will not be complete without a Lovely Layer Cake Log Cabin Block. … Log cabin quilt designs are traditional, but can easily be adapted to more modern tastes, depending on the type of tiered cake you use.

Do you do pre-washing of layer cakes?

Pre-wash (jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, fabric panels, etc.) unravel or become distorted and are no longer the standard size due to shrinkage if the fabric is pre-washed. … You want to keep the size in the fabric to help with cutting and sewing the fabric. (This is my only personal exception to pre-washing the fabric.

How much fabric do you need for a layer cake?

A 40 square layer cake contains 4,000 square inches, or 2.78 yards. (NOTE: Isn’t it cool that jelly rolls and layer cakes contain exactly the same amount of fabric?

We hope you liked this pattern, now you can download your free pattern from the button below. The big tip to finish is that you can choose incredible fabrics for this work here at modasfabrics.com. We hope you enjoyed it. [opd id=”74″]

Quilts can be used for anything from bed covering to wall decorations. Often old quilts are used to make doll clothing or reupholster furniture. The versatility of quilts also lends itself to being turned into purses, table runners, and framed artwork.

The value of a quilt is not only measured in beauty, but also craftsmanship, difficulty of the pattern, design and skill level of the quilting, as well as the sentimental value a maker feels when looking at their finished product. While there are quilts made solely to cover a bed and provide warmth, the uses for quilts are virtually unlimited.[opd id=”9″]

Susan Kephart designed this quilt for Robert Kaufman in two different styles and in four sizes ranging from 20″ x 23″ to 48″ x 57″. This stunning quilt was designed for solid fabrics but is equally eye-catching in prints. The rainbow colors add to its impact. We can easily imagine it made up in a coordinated color scheme creating a secondary overall design. The hexagon shape will be eye-catching in any combination of colors and fabrics.

Good seeing the pattern in a different way you can pay attention that not using composed by geometry in form of triangles the form of you to sew the fabric and wood to you must carry CRC the way you prefer the important advantage and this pattern can be made the size you want increasing or decreasing the pattern as in the pdf.

The PDF is very clear and you will have two versions to make this pattern very simple which the first version will be without sashing and the second version will be with sahing. Both versions are very simple to make, simplicity that even a very attentive beginner with sewing talent will be able to make without difficulty.

I particularly believe that this pattern can be considered for an expert if the person in question is going to increase or decrease to perhaps make an appliqué, because this pattern motivates us to use our creativity.

In the PDF you will also find well done drawings in the geometry correctly drawn and explained where each part connects. The same pattern gives us several ideas to use different types of fabrics.
